From National Parks to ski resorts and golf courses, Utah is a dreamscape for any outdoor fanatic.  Known for its geological assortment ranging from snowcapped mountains to well-watered river valleys to rugged, stony deserts, Utah has adventure waiting for you. 

Whether you come to ski, snowboard, snowmobile, camp, fish, hunt, mountain bike, go whitewater rafting, climb or hike, Utah is the place for you.  While Utah’s national parks are considered national treasures, there are many more places to see and things to do that are just as amazing and without a doubt less crowded!

Utah’s weather is as varied as its terrain with several mountains receiving over 500 inches of snow in the winter.  In the summer, parts of the state can reach temperatures well over 100°F! Spring and fall bring every type of weather conceivable. 

Most of Utah lies on a plateau higher than 4,000 feet above sea level. The geology of this region takes on a remarkable assortment of shapes and colors. Elevations rise and fall considerably in the shape of mountains, buttes, and plateaus, the highest reaching over 13,000 feet! Within this diverse landscape are experiences that appeal to everyone.

With over 5 national parks located close together, visitors are able to experience them all in one trip. Whether you choose to visit just one or two, or to take a Grand Circle swing through them all, your trip is certain to be memorable! Utah also has seven National Monuments, two National Recreation Areas, a National Historic Site and six National Forests.

Sports fans can also catch year-round athletic excitement watching the NBA’s Utah Jazz, Major League Soccer, with Real Salt Lake, and the Utah Blaze, playing in the Arena Football League.  Baseball fans can also catch the AAA Salt Lake Bees, and two other minor league baseball teams, the Orem Owlz, and the Ogden Raptors.  

As hosts of the 2002 Winter Olympics Utah invites both serious and casual athletes to enjoy the ski resorts, cross-country trails, ice sheets and luge runs that are currently open to the public.
